1. Glee. Okay so first of all, I have to admit that I used to think Glee was the most ridiculous thing ever, but a month ago I started watching it and I am absolutely hooked! I'm just about to start Season 3 and it's got to be one of my favorite shows ever. I adore the writing, the witty one-liners, the characters, the songs! I typically watch an episode or two a night after Henry goes to sleep, and it's definitely something I look forward to. I hope the other seasons are just as good!
2. Positive women lifting each other up! Okay cue the cheesy music (sometimes I think I should just have it constantly running on this blog...HA), but really, I love love love seeing girls supporting each other instead of cutting one another down. It makes my day. One of my goals for the new year is to be a kinder person, and this includes surrounding myself with kind people. You really are the company you keep, and I'm so tired of seeing the same girls acting the same way...30-year-olds behaving as if they are in high school. Even if I'm not being a "mean girl," standing alongside these women makes me guilty by association. And I don't want to be that kind of person, or be that kind of example for Henry. No one is perfect; we all have those judge-y thoughts that run through our heads from time to time, but I'm trying to move past that and focus on the good, and only the good. This doesn't mean living life with blinders on, but it means just keeping it real, and being kind to every person I meet, be it online or off.
3. Goodbye Michele Bachmann! Oh, happy day. Now obviously this goes against my number two item but sorry, I can't do it. Not a fan. And I should say that I'm equally unenthusiastic about a number of the other possible candidates for President too, but in my humble opinion, anyone who is so vocal about homosexuality being so terribly wrong would make a horrible leader. You can't run a country thinking that a huge portion of its population has a "sexual identity disorder." I respect everyone's' beliefs, but when it comes to someone being in a position to drastically affect lives, I can't stand behind that. Now, I know this may have half of you disagreeing with me and will probably open me up to comments about it...but that's okay! We're all different and believe in different things for different reasons, but I stand very firm in the belief that all people deserve equal rights, and I proudly support the right for people to marry whomever they choose. I know that Michele suspending her campaign doesn't change the fact that many of the other candidates have similar agendas, but after following her for awhile I've really come to dislike her as a politician, especially after watching a lot of the town hall style forums she held. Knowing that there is a slim to none chance she could be running our country puts me a little more at ease...although then I think about a few of the other candidates and I'm terrified. That's another blog for another day though.
And because this is such a public blog let me add this- comment whatever you would like on the topic, I invite and welcome differing opinions in this space, but know that I will not stand for any hateful remarks. It's a shame that I have to say that but last time I brought up my feelings about this topic I received some comments that I wouldn't have wanted my homosexual friends to see. It was mean. And those kind of comments are not welcome here!
4. Working out in the early morning. You'd think I'd learn by now but whenever the holidays roll around (or a particularly busy time) the first thing I end up doing is staying up far too late to be able to make it to the gym in the morning. So I end up going around 9 or 9:30pm, getting home at 11, and then I'm not able to relax until like 1am. I get no sleep and the cycle continues. I function best going to bed early and waking up early, and this week I'm back on track and loving. On a related note I also really enjoy those quiet moments when I get home from the gym- no one else is awake yet, it's dark outside and the house is just so still and calm. I love it.
5. The idea of turning 30 in May. This deserves a blog post all its own and will definitely get one, but I am just really excited about this birthday. Is that weird? I feel like my 30s are going to be the best decade yet and I'm really just looking forward to seeing what the future holds. This year a ton of my friends are leaving the good ole 20s so it has been on my mind a lot. I don't want a big extravagant to-do, but I would love to spend a fun evening with the people I love, toasting to my 20s and this next adventure too. Can't wait.
So those are the 5 things I'm thinking about and loving today! How about you?

Tuesday happiness: 5 things I'm loving
Today is a really good day for no particular reason, and I'm welcoming it in with open arms because it means I have just one more day until Hank gets home! I don't know how I ever got by when he was gone for months at time touring with his band. Obviously it's much harder now since Henry's in the picture, but at the heart of the matter I just miss him more than ever when he's gone on business trips. Anytime I'm alone for more than a couple of days with Henry it really puts a lot into perspective and makes me think of my girlfriends who have husbands in the military or who are single mamas. I won't pretend for a second that Hank's absence for a few days can even compare, but I will say that it makes me think of these women as true super Moms. My hats off to you, ladies. You are truly amazing.
With that said, I thought I'd share a quick little list of things that I'm currently loving!
1. This video. It's absolutely a must-watch. I personally don't mind getting older one bit, and I found this clip to be incredibly inspiring.
2. The My New Roots blog. This is my most favorite blog right now. I highly recommend it to you if you're into whole living, healthy food, or just want a burst of inspiration.
3. Awesomely fun things for my iphone like the Phoster app, which my friend Sarah reminded me of it this morning. I've recently utilized it to make little cards and notes to send to Hank, but after Sarah used it on Instagram today I thought that it might be fun to use in your blog or make your photos even prettier. It's really amazing and what I used to make that pink poster right there. It's $1.99 but definitely worth it.
Some other apps I'm loving lately:
-the Joann and Michael's apps for coupons. I wish all stores offered this.
-Postalpix. You can order photos straight from your phone, and they print in all sizes, including square pictures for Instagram photos. This app is quick and super easy to use. I highly recommend it!
4. The Wonder Years on Netflix. I feel like my prayers have been answered with this one. The Wonder Years is one of my all-time favorite television shows from way back when and I've been absolutely loving being able to watch any of the 114 episodes on Instant Play (there's actually 115 episodes but Netflix doesn't stream the clips episode). Another show I've just recently gotten into- Breaking Bad. I watched the first episode while running on the treadmill the other night and I'm hooked.
5. The extreme organizing that has been going on in our house! Hank and I are both neat freaks (he's always been, and I've made my way to becoming one over the past few years), and lately I have been on an organizing kick. My Shop My Closet was a big part of that, and this past go 'round I managed to really whittle my closet down to the essentials. I still have a few items left, as well as some new additions, so head over and check it out! I moved all of the available items to the first few pages, and feel free to use code "sometimessweet" for 10% anything.
Well I'm off to do a little birthday party crafting before Henry wakes up! His party is on Saturday and I'm so excited to have (almost) all of our friends and family in one place.
And if you have a moment, how about you? Is there anything in particular you're really loving right now?
Happy Tuesday! xoxo

5 things I'm loving right now:
1. Maybelline's Coral Crush lipstick. My sister bought me this lipstick as part of my Mother's Day present and I fell in love with its pink (but not too pink), summery color. It's the absolute perfect "daytime" lipstick, and a great alternative to red. And for under $5, you can't go wrong! I love how it looks when applied lightly- almost like a sheer, pink gloss, but it also looks great darker, as shown below on my sister!
2. Greek Yogurt. I've been eating it every single morning for a couple of weeks, and I think it's safe to say I'm addicted! My favorite way to eat it: spoon it into a bowl and add blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, then top with my favorite granola. It's amazing, and so good for you!
3. Rilo Kiley. I don't know what it is about the impending summer, but every time May/June hits, I find myself listening to "The Execution of All Things" over and over, and over again. That album is PERFECTION to me, and has been the soundtrack to many roadtrips, outings, and warm summer afternoons, driving around with the windows down over the past nine years or so.

4. Lissy Elle's photostream. In one word: Amazing. Seriously, go check her out. I can't get enough of her dreamy, beautiful photographs.

5. Picnics. I think I've gone on four picnics just in the past couple of weeks, and lately nothing has made me happier than enjoying the beautiful outdoors with a good, healthy lunch. I foresee many outdoor dining sessions in our summertime future, and I should also add what a great dining option it is for parents and kiddos! No need to worry about a fussy baby, and no need to worry about a mess. Simply spread out a huge picnic blanket to contain it, and have fun!
